Our Family Medicine clinic offers weight loss options.

Patients who have been unsuccessful in weight loss despite dietary changes and exercise may benefit from medical management along  with continued lifestyle modifications.

A new patient visit typically includes lab work  consisting of routine blood test including thyroid function studies.  Patients may need to start thyroid medication to assist them in their weight loss if labs indicate a low functioning thyroid.

Medications such as phentermine, topiramate, phendimetrazine, diethylpropion, or metformin may be prescribed. Patients are assessed periodically, and are seen for refills typically every 3 months. Their weight and vitals signs including blood pressure and pulse are monitored as well.
